Spiny Orb Weaver Key Ring

An example of focus stacking.

An example of focus stacking from four separate shots.

To make this shot I used a cool free program called Combine ZM. It allows one to take multiple shots and combine them to get a great depth of field or in-focus area.

Speaking of spiny orb weavers, when I was a kid, I used to play with them all the time. We called them crab spiders back in the day. They never bit me so I wasn’t afraid of them. Those was some rather boring times I must say, but the spiders at least relieved the monotony of all the brown anoles. Only once did I see a green one, a knight anole to be specific. Too bad I wasn’t a photographer back then. Alas.

Cheers,
Justin
